Now, they're aiming to secure a spot on his official visit schedule.
Dobson, who has trips planned for Auburn, Texas A&M, LSU, and South Carolina, is open to replacing one of those schools with Michigan. He recently expressed his enthusiasm to On3's Ethan McDowell, stating, 'Don’t let nobody else tell you different. … They absolutely don’t want a weekday visit. They want a weekend. They made that clear, so I’ve got to see what I can do.'
Dobson's interest in Michigan is well-founded. He values 'family environment, player development on and off the field, and I want to win.' His mother's educational background and his desire to major in business, coupled with a tour of the Ross Business School, further solidify his academic aspirations. At 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, Dobson is ranked as the No. 3 cornerback and No. 9 overall player in the class on the Rivals Industry Ranking.
Another in-state target, 2027 three-star wide receiver Tre Britton III, has also been a focus for Michigan. Britton, a Belleville native, has been making waves in the camp circuit this offseason, even earning the title of Rivals' MVP from the Under Armour Ohio Regional. His impressive 4.56 40-yard dash time at 5-foot-11 and 169 pounds showcases his athleticism.
Britton has scheduled official visits to Miami (May 29), Missouri (June 5), and Michigan (June 19). According to Rivals' Allen Trieu, these schools are expected to be the final contenders. Britton's decision will likely be made shortly after his visit to Michigan, where he can experience the proximity and accessibility of the university.
